Alcogal contributes to the Panama National Rounds of the 2019 Jessup Competition

Congratulations to the winners of the Phillip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition National Rounds! The Universidad Católica Santa María la Antigua team formed by Gloria Correa and Elieser Lu were trained by Alcogal associate, Mónica Crespo, and will represent Panama in the International Rounds of the Competition. The firm is proud to support the educational development of law students in Panama.

The Phillip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition is the largest and most prestigious Moot Competition in the world. It is currently organized by the International Law Students Association (ILSA) and more than 680 law schools from 100 different countries participate in the Competition. The Competition consists of a simulation of a fictional dispute between two countries before the International Court of Justice and the judicial organ of the United Nations. Both teams must prepare oral and written arguments for the applicant and respondent positions of the case.

The National Rounds were organized by the Lovill Foundation for the Jessup. The event also counted with the participation of Universidad de Panamá.
